The Emmental Creepie (#2)

Like my first creepie, this creepie was made specifically for the Dirleton Market on the Green 2022.

Taking a possibly blasphemous approach to the original Scottish vernacular creepie stool, I decided to make this one full of holes in the side skirts and legs. Made from my own oak, there was a lot of sanding to give all of the holes a nice smooth finish.

This one sold to one of my furniture customers who attended the market.

one creepie stool made from rippled ash and another made from oak with holes

Nb: The National Museum of Scotland website has a nice wee article about creepies if you would like to know more about this furniture type.
