Lovely Olive Ash!

Tom, my son, asked for some shelves to fit an empty space in his room. The shelves were to be able to take his school notes in lever arch files, some text books and some novels.

I decided to give him a set of shelves which tapered from top to bottom (wider at the bottom for the widest files). They would have dovetails to connect the sides to the top and bottom and they would be rounded to further highlight the shape of the joints.

Tom was quite happy to have solid timber so I chose some olive ash which looks fantastic and gives interest to what is otherwise a very simple design.

Dimensions are W 550 x H 1020 x D 340 (base), D 240 (top).
